Charing Parish Memorial Hall - Hire fees and details


	For it's Sins, Charing Parish has quite a lot of 'Gathering Places', (Halls to you and me). Since the National Lottery came on the scene, Villages and Parishes all over the Country have sprouted new Halls of all sizes and descriptions. Competition between Villages has never been so great, each one in turn trying to outdo it's neighbour with the size, facility and cost of it's new "CGC's" or "Community Gathering Centres"' (The New, Politically Correct name for 'Halls'). Several times the Parish Council has been asked why Charing doesn't have one of these bright new places. One of the main reasons is because we have too many in the Parish already and the Lottery will not cough up any cash for more.. We actually have a quite nice Parish Hall that is underused. It is near the centre of the Village, its warm, comfortable, and has facilities for sports, badminton in particular, the Youth Club, and the Parish Council itself meet there and as a "Community Gathering


	Charing Parish Hall Charges for 2007/8. Rate for hire by parishioners at all times except Saturday's. £ 7.50 per hour. Rate for hire by non-parishioners as above. £12.50 per hour. Rate for hire of the "Top Room" at any time £ 5.00 per hour. Saturday rate for parishioners £ 7.50 per hour Saturday rate for non-parishioners £12.50 per hour. Special Saturday rate for parishioners (9am to 11:30pm) £85.00 Special Saturday rate for non-parishioners (9am to 11:30pm) £140.00 The above charges include the electricity for lighting and the kitchen, but will be surcharged by £1.00 per hour (Main Hall) and £0.50 pence per hour (Top Room), for heating costs, between 1st October and the 31st of March.
